Los Angeles Lakers to WIN @ Denver Nuggets (+108)
The pairing of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, to the surprise of everyone, actually looks incredibly dangerous. Who would’ve thought? They might only be a two-man show, considering their third-leading scorer, Kyle Kuzma, only scores 11.3 points per game, but anytime you get an opportunity to buy the Los Angeles Lakers as an underdog, coming off a loss, it would be a mistake to not at least consider doing so. Tonight’s matchup with the 13-4 Denver Nuggets on the road might look less than favorable. If anyone can hand them their third home loss at home, though, it’s the Lakers. I gave up the 2.5 points they’re getting and took them outright here, simply because Los Angeles is already 8-1 on the road this season, 2-0 coming off a loss and 1-0 as a road dog. The sample sizes are small, only because the Lakers are too talented to be in this spot on a regular basis. It’s hard to imagine the Lakers, that have been dominant on the road this season, losing two-straight games.
Denver is 8-2 as a home favorite this season and 2-1 coming off a loss. While it’s no secret the Nuggets are probably the deeper of the two teams, the Davis-James tandem has the potential to make the difference here.
