Play of the Day: Seattle Seahawks to COVER -2.5 vs. Minnesota Vikings (-120)
I feel it’s important to lead with a pretty telling Kirk Cousins stat. While he might’ve fended off some of his primetime demons against the Cowboys a few weeks back, Monday Night Football has been a completely different beast for the Vikings signal-caller. He’s 0-7 straight-up in his Monday night career and has yet to cover a spread. The Seattle pass defense will offer a favorable spot for him to buck that trend, still, beating the Seahawks at CenturyLink is a tall order, even if their only two losses this season have come at home. Since Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson joined forces in 2012, Seattle is 31-25-2 ATS and 47-11 straight-up as a home favorite, winning by an average margin of 10.3 points, the second-largest figure behind New England over that span.
Minnesota, on the other hand, has been a tough out as a road dog under Mike Zimmer. His teams are 16-11 ATS in this spot, still, they only cover by an average of three points and are actually being outscored by 1.7 points over that span. With a spread this close and the fact that the Seahawks can leap the 49ers for the NFC West lead with a win, bank on the home favorite to take care of business in the primetime slot.
