The only fair ranking for Ohio State and LSU at this point is 1a and 1b. Neither team deserves to be ranked No. 2. The Tigers, for the time being, are playing from that two spot and even should they lose this game – spoiler alert, I don’t think they will – they’ll probably still make the CFB Playoff field. Georgia, on the other hand, is in a must-win scenario. When facing ranking opponents this season, Coach O’s Tigers are winning by an average margin of 7.2 points. That’s the seventh-highest figure among FBS teams. That figure jumps to a staggering 21.6 points in conference games and 28.5 points when the team is favored. Georgia, on the other hand, has yet to enter a game as an underdog this season, is outscoring ranked opponents by 6.5 points and besting conference opponents by an average of 14.8 points.

LSU is 4-0 ATS in its last four as a favorite of between 3.5 and 10 points. Additionally, over their last eight games against teams with winning records, the Tigers are 6-2 and 15-7 in their last 22 conference games. To Georgia’s credit, the Bulldogs have covered in each of their last five games as an underdog, but keep in mind, they’re 0-3-1 in the last four meetings with LSU.
