Miami Heat To COVER (+6) @ Boston Celtics (-110)
Miami is still the surprise team of the season so far. They currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference at 15-5 and are the best cover team in the NBA. Jimmy Butler continues to prove all his haters wrong, as he represents the lone star on this otherwise underwhelming roster. Tonight, they travel to a difficult place to play, as they take on the Boston Celtics, who are 14-5 and sitting in fourth place. The Heat are a fairly large six-point underdog in this one, so I like them to keep it close tonight. Keep in mind, they are the best cover team in the league at 14-5-1 ATS.
In addition, Miami is 6-5-1 ATS on the road and coming off a huge overtime win on the road in Toronto last night. In fact, they’ve won back-to-back road games against tough opponents, taking down Brooklyn a few nights earlier. Furthermore, Miami is 5-2 ATS versus Boston over the last three seasons. Sure, Boston is undefeated at home this season, but six points is a lot to cover against a team that’s rolling like the Heat. Boston will also be without team leader Marcus Smart for Wednesday’s showdown.
