Denver Nuggets To COVER (-6) vs. Portland Trail Blazers (-110)
For the last bet of the night, I am actually looking at a struggling Denver Nuggets team to rebound at home against the Portland Trail Blazers. Denver has really fallen off over the last week, losing five of their last six games as they tumble down the West standings. Nevertheless, five of those games came on the road, and the Nuggets tend to thrive at home. So, as they head back to the Rockies this evening, I like them to COVER against a Blazers team that has also lost three of five games.
From a betting perspective, Denver has had Portland’s number of late, boasting a 10-5-1 ATS record and 10-6 straight-up record versus the Blazers over the last three seasons. Portland is just 5-9 on the road overall this season and is just a .500 team when it comes to covering in those scenarios. In fact, they are just 7-7 ATS as an away team and 4-4 ATS as a road underdog. Of course, the Nuggets have the best scoring defense in the NBA, holding opponents to just 101.7 points per game in 2019, so it’s not going to be easy for an otherwise potent offense like Portland to generate a ton of offense tonight… especially in a hostile environment for a team desperate for a win. Give me Nikola Jokic and the boys tonight!
