Last week, we entered Week 4 with an incredible eight unbeaten teams. Now, we only have three remaining in the NFL, and the 49ers didn’t even play this past weekend. The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are the others that join San Francisco in that regard. With that being said, those teams simply took care of business, while others defied expectations. Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers upset the defending NFC Champions on the road by scoring a whopping 55 points against a defense that features the two-time defending Defensive Player of the Year. On the other side, another former NFC Champion is really struggling on both sides of the ball. Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons have lost three of their first four games and can’t seem to get anything going on the gridiron. Without further ado, here are the biggest Super Bowl odds movers heading into Week 5.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2)
Week 4: W 55-40 @ Rams
Super Bowl Odds Before Week 4: +12500
Super Bowl Odds After Week 4: +5000
There are a few things to take away from the Buccaneers win over the Rams in L.A. this weekend. First, that Tampa offense can score some points. When Jameis Winston isn’t making obvious mistakes and forcing balls to his talented receivers, this team can really put up a fight against some of the best teams in the NFC. Winston finished with 385 yards and four touchdowns. Chris Godwin finished with 172 yards and two touchdowns, while Mike Evans racked up 89 yards and a touchdown himself. The other thing to take away is that Todd Bowles’ defense has some huge holes. While they were able to pick off Jared Goff three times, they also allowed him to carve them up for 517 passing yards. At the same time, they held the Rams to just 28 rushing yards, albeit two rushing touchdowns. Nevertheless, they will have an incredible opportunity to take a huge step forward within the division when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints, who have won both games without Drew Brees so far. We will see if they are for real in Week 5.
