Over the past few seasons, rookie running backs have stolen the show early on and never relinquished the headlines throughout the season. A few years ago, Ezekiel Elliott burst onto the scene and won the rushing title as a rookie. Two years ago, Alvin Kamara won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for the New Orleans Saints. Finally, last season, Saquon Barkley showed out on his way to winning the award, as well. The point is, the next great running back doesn’t need a few seasons to get settled in. No. The next great offensive playmaker is just about to suit up for his first NFL game. Here are the rookie running backs to watch in 2019.
Devin Singletary, Buffalo Bills
After the Buffalo Bills decided to release LeSean McCoy this preseason, it made people really start looking into rookie running back Devin Singletary. The Florida Atlantic product was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft and is expected to be the future starting running back for Buffalo. With that being said, he does currently sit behind all-time great, Frank Gore – who ranks fourth all-time on the NFL rushing list. In addition, the Bills have premier receiving back T.J. Yeldon on the roster.
All things considered; everyone is really high on the rookie in Buffalo. In fact, many people have referenced his presence and ability as one of the main reasons they felt ok with releasing ‘Shady’ McCoy. Look for him to make an immediate impact and win some people some fantasy games in 2019.
