After a week away from domestic campaigns, I think it’s safe to say that everyone is ready to shift their attention away from the international break back to the season-long quest for a championship. There are plenty of top-tier soccer matchups this weekend, and we got the insights you need to cash in on the action. We’ve picked one game each from Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League for you to work with. Without further ado, here are the best bets for September 13-15, led by Luis Suarez and Barcelona.
Serie A: Fiorentina vs. Juventus
Fiorentina is winless in 16 Serie A games and now face Juventus, who have won nine of the last 11 league head-to-heads. Home advantage is unlikely to give ’La Viola’ a boost either, as they haven’t won in the league here since December.
Fiorentina Team News
- French veteran Franck Ribéry is favorite to start ahead of Italy U21 star Riccardo Sottil in the attacking trio.
- Gaetano Castrovilli should retain his place in midfield after a great start to the season and Serie A career.
Juventus Team News
- Mattia De Sciglio picked up an injury in the game against Napoli and also missed out for the national team.
- That means Danilo should be safe to start after replacing De Sciglio and scoring straight away on his debut.
Fiorentina has lost their first two games of the season, and while their defeat to Napoli came in a spectacular match and against a better team, their loss at Genoa was definitely not a good result.
Juventus has won two of two thus far, having also hosted Napoli in a crazy game of football but emerging victorious, thanks to a late own goal from Kalidou Koulibaly. Fiorentina needs to start getting points to avoid running out of all the enthusiasm felt in Florence before the season started, but hosting Juventus is not the easiest task.
