If you’re reading this, I’d venture to guess you’re currently trying to convince yourself that gambling on NFL preseason football is stupid. You’ve made it through two days-worth of games, but you’re definitely starting to feel the pull ever so slightly. You missed that miraculous Bears over on Thursday or whatever you may have wanted to go with on Friday and now, you’re fed up with watching from the sidelines. You feel like a starter who hasn’t gotten to play yet – you miss the live action, whether the games count or not. You just can’t concede that betting on these games might actually be a good time.

If you’re thinking of going back on that “I’ll wait ’till the regular season,” stance, I say go for it. Football has been gone for far too long and it’ll be a tough break if you pass on taking the Bengals to cover and they win by four, all because it was “just” a preseason game. The money is worth the same, whether you win in it in an exhibition or Week 14.

If the fear of people looking down on you for betting on fourth and fifth stringers is the only thing holding you back, I’d say that’s not entirely unjustifiable.  At the same time, if you have a little extra money to play with, you’d look like a genius for winning on a preseason bet. It all depends on how you look at it.

Anyway, we’re glad you’re here and we hope some of the ensuing picks net you a little cash.

Real quick, if you’re looking for some preseason trends that might help you make the right pick, we’ve compiled an all-encompassing guide to how teams fared against the spread and over/under plays. You can find that here.
