Justin Rose (+1800)

Justin Rose might just be my favorite pick in the entire field, and on top of that, you can get him at +1800 odds to win the Northern Trust. Rose is the defending FedEx Cup champion and shouldn’t be counted out in the race, nor this weekend’s tournament. The 2016 Olympic gold medalist finished tied for runner-up in the 2013 Northern Trust, which also happens to be the last time that the tournament was played at Liberty National.

Rose is currently ranked fourth in the World Golf Rankings, after an incredible season that included one win and six top-10 finishes. He finished T3 at the 2019 U.S. Open and 11th at St. Jude his last time out. In addition, Justin Rose ranks top-15 in scoring average and sand save percentage.

Webb Simpson (+2700)

Webb Simpson is the No. 13-ranked golfer in the World Golf Rankings and ninth in the FedEx Cup rankings this season. He also ranks top-10 in scoring average, sand save percentage and official money won on Tour.

Simpson has extremely favorable odds at +2700, considering he’s finished runner-up in back-to-back starts at St. Jude and the Wyndham Championship. In fact, he’s had three runner-up finishes in his last five starts overall, so he is due for a breakthrough win.

Finally, Simpson has finished inside the top-15 in both starts at Liberty National. He’s also had three top-5 finishes at East Lake, so you know he’s entering this FedEx Cup race supremely confident. Simpson is the type of player that could be extremely dangerous when he hits his stride. A win at the Northern Trust could go a long way towards establish himself as a real threat for the Cup title.
