Zack Greinke, HOU @ CHW, $10,700

The highest-priced arm on Monday, Zack Greinke gets the ball for us as we make a splash in starting pitching. Despite his rocky Astros debut last week, Greinke will get a chance to further his stellar 2019 on the road. In 13 road starts, opposing hitters are batting just .204 off of Greinke, with the righty posting a 2.85 road ERA. Greinke has been really good in inter-league play this season as well, going 3-0 with a 3.16 ERA in five starts. On a day that’s lacking much star power in the way of starting pitching, treat your self to Zack Greinke in a potentially big bounce-back start.

Francisco Mejia, SD vs. TB, $3,400

Baseball’s hottest-hitting catcher over the latest 10 days, Francisco Mejia is our pick behind the dish in August 12 MLB DFS. Mejia has logged multiple hits in each of his last six starts, hitting an absurd .625 (!!) with 2 homers and 3 RBIs. Mejia is hitting .353 in five interleague games on 2019, with a pair of homers in those outings. The coveted piece acquired in last July’s Brad Hand deal with the Indians, Mejia is beginning to deliver on his top-20 prospect value. His batting average has shot up from .231 on August 2nd to now .280 thanks to his torrid stretch of hitting. As the No. 9 catcher on DraftKings, we’re buying up on Mejia as a high-ceiling bargain play.
