Featured one of the most loaded fields that the world of golf will see this year, the WGC – FedEx St. Jude Invitational is sure to be a shootout in its first year at TPC Southwind. With Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson leading the way with the best St. Jude Invitational betting odds, who else is poised to make some noise this weekend? We dive into the top betting favorites and longshots to look out for this week in golf betting.
WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational Betting Favorites
The Odds-On Favorite: Brooks Koepka (+750)
While it’s not a major, having a winner’s share of $1.745 million and a $10.25 million purse sure makes the St. Jude Invitational feel like one. Brooks Koepka finished 5th at last year’s WGC-Bridgestone at -9, six strokes off the mark of Justin Thomas’ winning score of -15.
Koepka has had another monster year, finishing in the top 4 in all four majors this year, including a win at the PGA Championship back in mid-May. His rise to dominance has been well-documented, and perhaps this is the time that Brooks Koepka gets his first win in a WGC event.
Other Brooks Koepka odds: Round 1 Leader (+1600), Top 5 (+240), Top 10 (+100)
The Co-Favorite: Dustin Johnson (+800)
A remarkably good player in WGC events, Dustin Johnson joins Brooks Koepka as co-favorite at the WGC-St. Jude Invitational. Johnson already has a WGC win this year to his credit at the WGC-Mexico Championship. Johnson has won at least one WGC event in four of the last five years. Johnson’s six career WGC wins are second-most all time, and one of those wins has come at the Invitational: the 2016 iteration of the WGC-Bridgestone.
Johnson is coming off a rough +5 final round in nasty conditions to end his 2019 Open Championship with a T51 finish, but he always feels right at home in these events. Let’s also not forget that Johnson has loved playing at TPC Southwind, winning here last year as well as 2012 (before it became a WGC event).
Other Dustin Johnson odds: Round 1 Leader (+1600), Top 5 (+220), Top 10 (+100)
