With six more games on the NBA’s Thursday night schedule, we’ll have a quality pool of superstars and value plays to sift through on DraftKings. As we fill out our NBA DFS lineups, which players should be our top targets in NBA DFS? We’ve got all of today’s best DFS value picks, stacks, pivots, and must-start plays in our March 14 NBA DFS picks.
*All dollar values according to DraftKings as of 3/14/19
Start ‘Em: Russell Westbrook, OKC @ IND, $10,900
Even though the Thunder are playing their third game in four days (including the second of a back-to-back), Russ has been solid in these scenarios. He had 55 DKFP in his most recent second of a back-to-back (which was only six days ago) and has been over 5x value in five of his last six second of back-to-back games. He comes off a triple-double in which he netted 72.50 DKFP a night ago and has averaged 60 DKFP in his last six second games of back-to-backs. Roll with Russ on the road tonight.
Value: Darren Collison, IND vs. OKC, $6,000
Injuries have opened the door to Darren Collison becoming a major value contributor for the remarkably still afloat and thriving Pacers. DC has been at or above 5x value in nine of his last 11 games and comes off a 41.75 DKFP night against the Knicks on Tuesday. He’s a solid mid-tier play tonight at an even six grand against a predictably semi-tired Thunder team playing their third game in four days and fifth game in eight days.
Start ‘Em: Bojan Bogdanovic, IND vs. OKC, $6,200
We’ll get off this Pacers/Thunder game soon enough, I promise. But we can’t pass up on the way Bojan Bogdanovic has been playing. Tied for his highest salary of the year, Bogdanovic amazingly has more than a full month since his last sub-5x ROI night. That’s right, Bogdanovic has hit for a minimum of 5x value in a remarkable 11 straight games dating back to February 13th. He’s averaging nearly 41 DKFP in his last four home games and is the in-form player at the SG position to target tonight.
Value: Jalen Brunson, DAL @ DEN, $5,300
Speaking of in-form guards, how about Jalen Brunson? The Mavs have unleashed the reigning collegiate player of the year since dealing out Dennis Smith Jr. and he’s rattled off some impressive performances. He’s on a four-game streak of at least 7x ROI and comes off a 9.8x night in which he dropped a season-high 49.25 DKFP against the Spurs two nights back. He returned 9.9x value three weeks ago against Denver and will certainly be a highly sought after guard tonight on DraftKings given his high usage and efficient run of play.
Start ‘Em: Kawhi Leonard, TOR vs. LAL, $8,700
Receiving increasingly more rest as the regular season winds down (has sat in three of Toronto’s nine games since the All-Star break), Leonard will be ready to go at home tonight against a Lakers team that’s clinging to their playoff hopes. Despite only returning 5x value or better once in his last four games, a match-up with a Los Angeles squad that gives up the most DKFP to SF/PFs in the NBA should help remedy that. A well-rested Kawhi at home makes him a quality start tonight at under $9 grand.
Value: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL @ TOR, $3,500
Caldwell-Pope was perhaps the top value play of the night on Tuesday, firing off 38.50 DKFP to the tune of 11.7x ROI. The game was his third night of at least 10x value on his 2018-19 season, and should he receive anywhere near the 31 minutes he got two nights ago in Chicago, KCP could be another low budget play that could help win you some serious cash. Watch out for him tonight as it seems a return to the bench could pay major dividends.
Start ‘Em: Paul George, OKC @ IND, $9,700
Paul George back in Indy! How can we not go with PG13 tonight here? Even though he’s sputtered a bit of late and faces a Pacers team that allows the fewest DKFP to SF/PFs of any team in the NBA, there’s a lot to be said for going against your former team in your old building. $9,700 is still an excellent salary to get a guy who’s been a legit top-3 MVP contender for a majority of the season at, and he’s entering off a game a night ago where he dropped 49.25 DKFP (5.1x value). He had his first night shooting 50% or better since February 22nd and if that’s a good sign that more shots are going to start falling, then PG is a must-start tonight.
Value: Derrick Favors, UTA vs. MIN, $5,500
Favors has been a major value contributor for us before, just look back to when he netted us 8.1x ROI and 37.25 DKFP on February 27th. The former second overall pick has enjoyed a brilliant month-plus stretch of DFS returns, hitting for at least 6x ROI eight times in his last 12 games. He dropped 41.25 DKFP (7.2x value) a night ago in Phoenix and gets to face a Minnesota team that he returned 6.2x ROI against his last time out.
Start ‘Em: Kevin Love, CLE @ ORL, $8,100
After resting on the second of a back-to-back in Philly on Tuesday night, K-Love will be back and ready to roll tonight in Orlando. Offered at his highest salary while healthy since October 24th, Love should be eating boards for breakfast, lunch, and dinner against this Magic team. He’s got double-doubles in three of his last four and six of his last eight overall and should be in for a night of high usage tonight on the road. He’s returned at least 5x value in six of his last seven (including 5.3x ROI against Orlando 11 days ago) and is a sound play as the night’s No. 4 center.
Value: Domantas Sabonis, IND vs. OKC, $5,400
Welp, Tuesday’s pick of Domantas Sabonis didn’t quite work out the way we’d hoped. But we still feel the potential for the former Zag is too good to pass up on here. Despite only playing 18 minutes on Tuesday, he still managed to get 12 shots up and snare seven rebounds. With a price reduction that now has him offered at his lowest salary of the entire season, his well-rounded game can lead to nights of impressive DFS returns when he’s in his element. This’ll be his third game back off an ankle injury and should those minutes return to the mean, Sabonis makes for a great start at $5,400.
